What is GrowGrid and where is it made?
GrowGrid is a small batch plant accessory brand based in Omaha, Nebraska. Every product is designed and 3D printed by hand using eco-friendly, plant-based PLA. Each order is printed, packed, and shipped with care by one person right here in Omaha.
What material are GrowGrid products made from?
All GrowGrid products are made from plant-based PLA — a biodegradable, eco-friendly material derived from renewable resources like cornstarch. It's lightweight, durable, and safe for indoor use around plants, people, and pets.
Is plant-based PLA safe for my plants?
Yes — plant-based PLA is completely safe for use with houseplants. It contains no harmful chemicals and won't leach anything into your soil or water.
Why do my products look slightly different from the photos?
GrowGrid products are 3D printed by hand, which means each piece has its own slight surface texture and minor color variations. This is completely normal and part of the charm of handmade goods — no two pieces are exactly alike.
Trellis
What's included in the Trellis Starter Pack?
The Trellis Starter Pack includes 1 Foundation Panel, 3 Half Honeycomb Panels, and 6 Snap Connectors — everything you need to get started. Additional panels and connectors are sold separately on our Trellis Add-Ons page.
Can I expand my trellis after I buy it?
Absolutely — that's the whole point! Every GrowGrid trellis is forever expandable. Just snap on additional panels in any direction as your plant grows. Additional Full Honeycomb Panels, Half Panels, Foundation Panels, and Corner Connectors are all available separately.
What plants work best with the GrowGrid Trellis?
The GrowGrid Trellis works great for any trailing or climbing houseplant including Pothos, Monstera, Philodendron, Scindapsus, Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma, and more. If it climbs or trails, it'll love a trellis.
How do the panels connect?
Each panel connects using our custom snap connectors — just push firmly until secure. No tools required. Panels can be connected in any direction to create your own custom layout.
Moss Pole
What's included in the Moss Pole Starter Pack?
The Moss Pole Starter Pack includes 1 Base Stake, 2 × 8-inch Extensions, and Twist-and-Lock Connectors. Sphagnum moss or coir is not included and can be found at most garden centers or online.
What moss or coir should I use?
We recommend sphagnum moss for the best results — it retains moisture well and encourages strong aerial root attachment. Look for long-fiber sphagnum moss for the easiest packing experience. Coconut coir is a great alternative if you prefer something lower maintenance and less messy.
How do I pack the moss into the pole?
Soak your sphagnum moss or coir in water for 15-20 minutes, then squeeze out the excess. Pack it firmly into the hexagonal holes from the bottom up using a stick or spoon handle. The hexagonal pattern is designed to grip the moss securely so it stays in place.
How do I water through the funnel cap?
Simply place the funnel cap on top of your assembled pole and pour water directly through it 1-2 times per week. The water travels down through the moss keeping it evenly moist without constant misting.
Can I add more extensions later?
Yes — the GrowGrid Moss Pole is forever expandable. Just twist and lock an additional 8-inch extension onto the top of your existing pole whenever your plant is ready for more height. Additional extensions are available on our Moss Pole Add-Ons page.
Orders & Shipping
How long does shipping take?
In-stock items are shipped within 1 business day. Because GrowGrid is a small one-person operation, some items may need to be printed first and will ship within 2-3 business days. You'll receive a tracking number once your order ships.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free shipping is available on all orders over $35 via USPS Ground.
Can I get a custom color?
Yes! We love working on custom colors. Reach out to us directly and we'll work together to find the perfect match for your space.
Do you accept returns?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery at the buyer's expense. If there's an issue with your product, please reach out before returning — we're a small operation and we'll always do our best to make it right.
Wholesale
Do you offer wholesale pricing?
Yes — GrowGrid products are available for wholesale to retail shops, plant nurseries, garden centers, gift shops, and other relevant retailers. We're a small batch operation based in Omaha, Nebraska and we love working with independent stores who share our passion for plants and quality handmade goods.
What products are available for wholesale?
All GrowGrid products are available for wholesale, including Modular Plant Trellis (starter packs and individual panels), Modular Moss Pole (starter packs and extensions), Leaf Drip Trays (Monstera and Pothos styles), and Owl Planters (medium and large, with optional Nest Drip Tray). Custom colors are also available for wholesale orders.
What are your minimum order quantities?

How long does wholesale fulfillment take?

Care
How do I clean my GrowGrid products?
Simply wipe with a damp cloth as needed. No special cleaners or maintenance required. Avoid harsh chemicals as they may affect the PLA material over time.
Can I use GrowGrid products outdoors?
GrowGrid products are designed for indoor use only. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, rain, or extreme temperatures can affect the PLA material over time.
