Which plants actually need one
A trellis is worth it for any trailing or climbing houseplant, including:
- Pothos — grows fast and trails naturally; a trellis redirects that growth upward
- Monstera — climbs in the wild and produces noticeably larger, more fenestrated leaves when given something to grip
- Philodendron — same climbing instinct as Monstera, same benefit
- Scindapsus
- Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma (the “Mini Monstera”)
If it climbs or trails in its natural habitat, it’ll do better with a trellis than without one.
